It’s incredible what happens when we trust our unseen helpers in spirit. I was invited to give the message (aka the “sermon”) at the Sunday service at Unity of Mills River yesterday. In the past, when asked to give a talk, the former Navy officer in me would write out [...]
“Good morning!” said with a cheery smile to a stranger can save a life. So many of you feel cut off from each other, and you are, but only in a physical sense. How simple it is to reconnect. What a gift you are to each other, yet you withhold [...]
Wherever you go, there I AM. Such comforting words. Who or what is this I AM? The Source of your very being. Do you notice that last word? Being. It is who and what you are: existence in its purest form whether or not you have a physical body. You [...]
This is our most unique “campsite” yet – parked directly alongside a labyrinth on the peaceful property of Unity of Mills River in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Asheville, North Carolina. I love labyrinths – a meditative tool used for introspection and transformation. Walking slowly toward the center is a [...]
Had you any idea how much your subconscious thoughts control your emotions and actions, you might change your ways. Ah, but there is the challenge. To change your ways, you must take conscious control of your thoughts. Reprogramming less than helpful thoughts takes deliberate intent and focused attention. How easily [...]
I must admit to waking up this morning feeling pretty depleted after two evening presentations in a row and several hundred miles on the road. My morning meditation helped, but by lunch time I was actually feeling worse than when I awoke. I felt nauseous and scattered. I am usually [...]
Why do babies cry? The moment they enter the world they express their discomfort in audible ways. Their distress is written on their face. You joke that they are saying, “What have I done?” and this is not far from the truth. What is it that calms them down? When [...]
So many of you want to know about your loved ones on the other side. “Are they okay?” you ask. “Are they happy?” In so asking, you are placing them in a human context. In your world there is okay and not okay. There is happy and sad. You come [...]
Your friends rant and rave. They send you communications full of opinions with which you disagree, yet they want you to pass them along. Why are you friends with such people, you wonder, and the answer is clear: for the lessons they afford you in mastering your emotions and for [...]
What do you call the prayers said at your meals? Some call them “grace.” It is by grace that the sick are healed, that the lost find their way, and that the hopeless find love in their heart. This love is yours for the taking, but you so often miss [...]
For those of you who do not follow my posts on Facebook and on my new blog, you will not want to miss this story of an awesome synchronicity: http://suzannegiesemannwhatsnew.blogspot.com/2014/04/thisweekend-i-was-witness-to-jaw.html
This weekend I was witness to a jaw-dropping sign of our interconnectedness that I am so excited to share with you ... Last night Ty and I showed the "Messages of Hope" documentary at Unity of North Atlanta. Two women I had never met drove from our home town in The [...]
Doubt is the opposite of trust. It comes from placing your focus on perceptions which validate belief systems in opposition to that which you hope to achieve. What if you were to place your focus only on the prize? What if you did not allow doubt to enter the picture? [...]
In addition to sharing news, there is a secondary reason I added a blog to my website. It's a matter of self defense. You see, some people think that every word in my husband's blog (www.LifeAsTySeesIt.com) is true. Don't you believe it! Today's post is a case in point. His comments about "Ms. [...]
Inhibitions. What are they? The little bits of your consciousness which control your choices. All possibilities lie within consciousness. This is why the most loving people you know have the capability of performing acts or saying words which are unloving. You live in a world of duality where you get [...]
What is a breakthrough but a sudden leap in understanding. Your soul’s evolution has these at times. You either earn them or they are gifts of grace. Whatever the case, they result in growth and great joy. Intend your breakthroughs. Know that growth is why you are here. If you [...]
A parent wishes to hold onto its child. “But I need you!” the parent thinks. “How can you leave me?” And then the child leaves. Did it abandon the parent? Not at all. Each has a role to play. If the child does not go out into the world on [...]
You are not growing unless you are shaken up a bit. Why? Because it is far too easy for you to fall into torpor—a somnambulant state in which you glide through life on automatic, reacting robotically to your programmed beliefs. If something did not come along and stir your emotions, [...]
Genuine growth comes from stretching. A balloon expands to a certain size when you blow it up, and then you stop. There is fear of stretching too far. Yes, there comes a point where it will burst, but are you satisfied with having your balloon the same as all others? [...]
You dredge up memories and it is as if you have lost your loved one all over again … Do you see what the mind does? Not only does it create visual images, but it recreates the same emotions. These are caused by chemicals secreted in the body in response [...]
You think that you must try ever harder to “get somewhere,” be that spiritual enlightenment, material success, or whatever your goal. This is the great paradox. It is only when you cease striving that you get exactly what the soul is seeking underneath all of the striving: peace. In the [...]
Check out "Afterlife Communications," a compilation of contributions by speakers at the July 11-13 conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, at which I am one of the keynote speakers: "New Developments in Afterlife Communications," sponsored by the Academy for Spiritual and Consciousness Studies. The book is now available for pre-orders at amazon.com. [...]
You have your traffic rules. One of them requires you to give way to another where two or more may interact. If one does not yield, suffering of some sort may occur. Is not life like this? How often do you fail to yield, convinced that you should go first [...]
