We are not speaking only of organizations like your military forces where rank is well defined or your corporations where there are clearly delineated leaders and followers. Why, even your families have their hierarchies. Yes, of course you can see a need for such structure, taking advantage of wisdom, age, experience. But what happens when one allows the structure to overpower the underlying unity? There can be a lack of compassion, understanding, and kindness. Rank has its place on the human stage, but do not forget what lies beneath the costume. Honor authority and never lose sight of the responsibility to care for others.
